Relationship Management: Up, Down, Across and Out (CS #78)

We will explore the characteristics of effectively managing up and down, and not forget about the essential value of peers and external networks.

Marge Dupere of the Camden Consulting Group, division of Keystone Partners, will discuss relationship management. Most leaders and managers are in the middle. In traditional structures, you have a boss and you have managers or a team reporting to you.  In non-traditional organizational designs, there may be changing and virtual teams through which work gets done. In every system and structure, relationships require attention and nurturing. How do you do that? How much time do you spend with each stakeholder group? How do you stay genuine and avoid becoming a sycophant?

Marge Dupere is Senior Partner & Managing Director of the Camden Consulting Group, division of Keystone Partners. She oversees a highly skilled team of coaches, consultants, and faculty who help client organizations build leadership capability that drives business results and unleashes the potential of individuals and teams. Earlier in her career, she was SVP of Global Human Resources with State Street Corporation, leading Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion, and Corporate Communications. She was also Global Head of Organization Development for Analog Devices and a Consultant with Hay Group, and was formerly Treasurer and Board Member of Worldwide Association for Cooperative Education.
