Kick off Fall with the September Women and Wine Wednesdays on September 4! Please join us.

Our special guest, Marina Hatsopoulos, SM '93 will briefly discuss getting more women on boards, her fascinating career, and opportunities for women in technology. It will still be an informal format, and there will still be plenty of time for sips, nibbles, and chatting. 

Marina Hatsopoulos, SM '93 (ME) was Founding CEO and original investor in Z Corporation, an early market leader in 3D printing, from 1994 through its sale in 2005, when it reached $30 million in Revenues. She is Chairperson of the Board and investor in Levitronix Technologies, the worldwide leader in magnetically-levitated bearingless motor technology. She was recently appointed by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus to the newly-formed National Board of Research & Innovation. She is on the Advisory Board of the Nantucket [technology] Conference, and MIT Enterprise Forum Greece, as well as Eurobank’s EGG incubator and the OK!Thess accelerator in Greece. She is an investor in codebender, RTsafe and Advantis, based in Greece, and C2Sense, based in Cambridge, MA.

Previously, she was a Director and investor in Cynosure Inc., a $400 million leader in the laser aesthetics market, which was sold for $1.65 billion. She was also a Director of the GSI Group, a $300 million supplier of laser-based equipment, and Contex Holding, a $100 million leading manufacturer of large-format scanners. She was an investor and Director of Dear Kate performance apparel and Tea Forte, a luxury tea brand which was sold to Sara Lee.

She has also written articles, essays and short stories which have been published in Venturebeat, Antioch Review, Bellevue Literary, and other literary journals. She holds B.A. degrees from Brown University in Math and in Music, and an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.

Parking:  There is a public parking lot located under the hotel (entrance at 47 Boylston Street).  Valet parking is also available from the hotel, but prices are much higher (e.g., 2 hours cost $32).
