After five years on a stable consulting track after MIT Sloan, Paul left the corporate world to rethink not just his career, but his entire relationship to work terms.
Over the past eight-plus years, he has embraced a solopreneur path—freelancing, publishing books, experimenting creatively, and building a life around what matters rather than what might look good on paper or in a bank account.
Paul Millerd, MBA 2012, Author, The Pathless Path will be joined by his
classmate Jossy Lee, MBA 2012, Board Member & Entrepreneurship
Chair, MITSBAA, for a Fireside Chat that will be candid and inspiring—an
invitation to rethink what work can look like and how to design a life
on your own
In this talk, Paul will cover:
● Why he walked away from a legible career path after business school
● The identity challenges that come with leaving a stable job
● Navigating unpredictable income and building financial resilience
● How your relationship with money can clarify what actually matters
● Making small creative bets that compound over time
● Earning money in diverse ways—through writing, online courses,
consulting, coaching, digital products, and more
