Executive Communications: Making the Complex Simple/When Less is More (Career Series #9)

Learn firsthand how top business leaders, managers and CEOs communicate complex issues in simple terms.

Join Emmy award winning TV news reporter and communications consultant John Monahan to review how to be concise and communicate your point; how to avoid interview pitfalls on and off camera; and top tips on how to be a great speaker.

John has interviewed thousands of business leaders, politicians, sports figures, celebrities and newsmakers in his more than 17 years in the news business. He's seen the best and the worst, and will help you by sharing proven techniques that can turn you from a tiresome talker to a compelling communicator.

This will be an interactive session using powerpoint and video to review famous speeches or TV reports and identify why they were (or weren't) effective.  John will also highlight some of the sticking points in media interviews and help participants develop a sense for focusing their message with few words. John will also help participants craft their "elevator video pitch" during the session, and will record and deconstruct several pitches.
