  2009 MIT Sloan Harbor Clean-up

Community Service: Boston Harbor Island Clean-up

A day of fun, food and community service on one of Boston Harbor's spectacular islands. Bring your family and friends as we depart from the Seaport World Trade Center aboard the 49-passenger yacht, Integrity, provided by Boston Yacht Charters.

Please join the MIT Sloan Alumni Club of Boston as we work to ready the island for the summer season.

During the ride to the island enjoy the sea air, the spectacular views, and a cup of coffee or pastry.  Once there, with the guidance Brad Sands and his crew from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, participants will help prepare camp sites or remove winter’s detritus from the island’s shore, perhaps even trim a bit of brush.  The necessary tools and gloves will be provided, though if you have a favorite pair of work gloves, feel free to bring them.  We will wrap up the day with a catered lunch aboard the Integrity during the return cruise.

Boston Harbor Island Alliance will again be providing a National Park Service ranger who will give an overview on the history of the Boston Harbor Islands and point out key sites on our way to the island.
