Description:   Today’s consumers are actively blocking out interruptive marketing like TV commercials and unsolicited emails. Consequently we are in the mist of a paradigm shift in Marketing—from push, interruptive marketing, to pull, Inbound Marketing, with an emphasis on getting found through blogs, social media, and SEO.

We’ll outline how you can get hired today to be on the vanguard on this Marketing revolution. We’ll also look at the possible trends in Marketing over the next decade and how your career can stay ahead of these changes. 

We’ll start with a presentation outlining the marketing skills leading edge companies are looking for in hiring vanguard marketers. In the presentation we’ll introduce the DARC framework—Digital, Analytical, web Reach, and Content creators.  And then move to a panel discussion of DARC practitioners, where we'll learn what marketing thought leaders are actually doing.



  •  Joe Sharron (Moderator) is VP of Talent Acquisition at HubSpot and an expert in leveraging social media to identify passive candidates for tech-based companies. 

  •  D. Steven White (Steve), a former advertising executive, is Professor of Marketing and International Business at UMass Dartmouth and one of the first D.B.A. graduates in the US to combine marketing with information technology and digital media. He is also an award-winning researcher and classroom instructor. 

  •  Tara Bartley is Director of Marketing at Signiant and has 14 years of high-tech marketing experience. Having transitioned from old-school marketing to current day pull marketing, Tara has tactical, hands-on experience and advice for the marketing professionals of tomorrow.

  • Kyle James is Manager of Consulting Services at HubSpot and a prominent blogger. He writes on many blogs, including .eduGuru, an award-winning higher education web marketing blog.

  •   Dan Ronken, is CEO of PullnotPush, Inc., a successful Inbound Marketing Agency. PullnotPush helps businesses stand out online and transform their websites into powerful marketing machines.
