Alumni Forum Workshop: The Secret Advantage of Successful Leaders (Career Series #25)
This workshop will introduce the Club’s new Alumni Forum program, based on a proven peer-group model for enriching the work, family, and personal lives of its participants.
Description: Organizations ranging from Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) to Entrepreneurs' Organization have offered Forums as a core benefit of membership for decades. Now, the MIT Sloan Alumni Club of Boston is offering a similar Forum program (also called Peer Exchange Groups) as part of the Club's successful Career Series program.Whether dealing with the effects of the economic crisis on your business, aging parents or even sudden success, a Forum is a safe, completely confidential environment for discussing the issues important to you with a small group of carefully selected colleagues.
During this special session you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the unique benefits of the new MIT Sloan Alumni Forum programs
- Understand what has made Forum programs the "secret advantage of successful leaders” for years
- Experience first-hand some of the benefits Forums provide by experiencing a sample meeting
- Directly connect with the leaders of our Forum partner, Alumni Forum Services, to better understand the benefits of and requirements for Forum membership, and to ask any further questions
Speakers: This session will be led by Mo Fathelbab and Bob Halperin, the co-founders of Alumni Forum Services, who have been managing Forums across multiple organizations for over 20 years. Mo is president of Forum Resources Network, and the author of "Forum: The Secret Advantage of Successful Leaders" and Bob is former Chief Education Office of Young Presidents Organization, and has led executive education programs at HBS, Babson and MIT Sloan.
