Emily Plachy and Maureen Norton, authors of the new book of
the same title, will tell you how IBM has successfully leveraged analytics
across the enterprise. The speakers will share valuable real-world perspectives
on what works (and doesn't work) and how you can start or accelerate your own
transformation. Case studies will be
presented in the areas of supply chain, human resources, finance, information
technology, and more. IBM has applied
big data and analytics as not just a technology, but as a smarter way to do
business.
Speaker Bios:
Dr. Emily C. Plachy
is a Distinguished Engineer in Business Analytics Transformation and leads
IBM’s increased use of analytics. She
earned a BS degree in applied mathematics from Washington University, an MSc
degree in computer science from the University of Waterloo, and a DSc degree in
computer science from Washington University.
A member of SWE and INFORMS and a past President of the IBM Academy of
Technology, she has integrated data and analysis into her work throughout her career.
Maureen Fitzgerald
Norton, MBA, JD, is a Distinguished Market Intelligence Professional and
Executive Program Manager in Business Analytics Transformation. She earned BA and MBA degrees from the
University of New Haven and a JD degree from the University of Connecticut,
School of Law. She leads transformation
initiatives to drive organizational culture change, bringing more science to
decision-making processes for improved results.
