Come with us to one of Boston Harbor's Islands to work on a variety of tasks to help maintain the island. Your friends and family are invited to join in!
Join the
MIT Sloan Boston Alumni Association for a day of stewardship on one of
Boston Harbor's spectacular islands where we will work to help preserve
and maintain this unique natural resource. Tasks include everthing from
clearing brush to picking up trash along the shoreline.
When: 9:00 am - 3:00pm. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to departure to allow
time for boarding.
Transportation: A
Rowes Wharf Water Transport vessel will pick us up at Courthouse Dock
at Fan Pier - 2 Northern Ave., Boston.The dock is next to the Moakley US Courthouse, near
the Old Northern Avenue bridge off of Atlantic Avenue. Directions are at http://www.bostonharborislands.org/#!directions-fees/c18fo.
Food: Rita's Catering box lunches will be provided, as well as coffee, tea and pastries dock side to get us started.
What to wear: We
recommend long-sleeve clothes and closed-toe shoes, and dress for
changeable weather. Bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. Tools,
gloves, lunch and extra water will be provided, but it is important to
stay hydrated.
The trip runs rain or shine, but may be cancelled if weather is severe.
