Panelists:
  • Moderator: Christina Qi, SB 2013, is Co-Founder and Partner of Domeyard LP. She started Domeyard LP, an HFT hedge fund 7 years ago with $1000 in savings.  She is a visiting lecturer at MIT, within Nobel Laureate Robert Merton’s “Retirement Finance” class since 2014 and is a case study protagonist at Harvard Business School. Christina sits on the Board of Directors of The Financial Executives Alliance (FEA) Hedge Fund Group, the MIT Sloan Boston Alumni Association (MIT SBAA), Invest in Girls, the U.S. Non-Profit Boards Committee of 100 Women in Finance, and the Scholarship Committee of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association. She holds an S.B. in Management Science from MIT and is a CAIA Charterholder.
  • Geoff Bernstein is a co-founder and General Partner at Indicator Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in seed-stage companies delivering digitally efficient solutions to the world’s largest consumer and enterprise markets. At Indicator, he focuses on enterprise software with a particular interest in financial services and healthcare. Prior to founding Indicator Ventures, Mr. Bernstein was an Associate and member of the Investment Committee at HighVista Strategies, a Boston-based hedge fund. Before HighVista, he spent four years in Leverage Finance and Debt Capital Markets at Jefferies. Mr. Bernstein is currently a board member of Shibumi, Elisify and Simplifeye, among others, and is actively involved in the Boston community as a Trustee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and member of the Board of Overseers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a major in Economics and minor in Applied Mathematics. Before attending Brown, he was a semi-professional ski racer.
  • Sophie Meralli is an Investment Associate at Innospark Ventures. Prior to joining Innospark, Sophie worked in the financial advisory practice at Ernst & Young, where she specialized in capital markets and merger & acquisitions for technology companies. More recently, Sophie served as an advisor for several AI-driven startups and a research scientist at the MIT Media Lab. She is fascinated by the impact AI continues to have on society and excited to help startups applying AI in Enterprise SaaS and Life Sciences. Sophie received an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she focused on artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship. She also received an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA in Economics, Law and Social Sciences from Paris Dauphine University. Sophie is fluent in French and Japanese, and enjoys playing Kendo and dancing Ballet during her spare time.
  • Mary Tobin is a Senior Analyst at Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, where she invests in early stage startups (Seed - Series B) in autonomous vehicles/mobility, shelter/home, and insurtech. Prior to LMSV, Mary was Manager of Development & Strategic Initiatives at the New England Venture Capital Association, where she leads the organization’s gender equity and immigration initiatives in addition to organizing major events and building member and sponsor relationships. She is passionate about creating impactful initiatives that solve real problems. A resourceful advocate and executor, Mary founded a startup in college that garnered IDEA, Rough Draft Ventures, and Dorm Room Fund investments. She graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Finance and Political Science, and she volunteers as a venture coach with IDEA: Northeastern's Venture Accelerator.
  • Baiyin Zhou is Founder and Principal at Pulse Ventures, Pulse Ventures is an early growth stage, enterprise tech-focused VC that leverages a high conviction and collaborative model of investing in and partnering with entrepreneurs to build emerging market leaders.
