Mead and Honey Tasting

Join MIT Club of Boston for a comparative tasting of monofloral honey and mead, a wine made from honey!

Friday, January 28, 2022

7:00 p.m - 8:45 p.m.

(A Zoom Event)

This is a great event for those who are interested in learning more about wine and honey. No prior knowledge of wine or honey is required!

In this tasting you will learn about monofloral honey (pollen and nectar procured by honeybees from a single floral source), and mead, the oldest fermented beverage in the world!

Ash Fischbein, co-founder and mead maker from Sap House Meadery, will walk you through the intricacies of mead, its origin, how it's made, and what Sap House Meadery is all about. Amina Harris, the Director of the Honey and Pollination Center at the Robert Mondavi Institute at UC Davis, will give a tutorial on monofloral honey and its many different flavors.

We have a great mead and honey tasting kit available for this event - please see details below about what will be tasted and how to purchase the kit.
