Lucinda Linde, BS/MS, MIT, will be joining us to informally discuss her multi-faceted career. She will chat with us about her most recent pivot and what it took to make a major career transition into data analytics.

Lucinda Linde is a senior data scientist solving business problems with machine learning. She has built machine learning to support a variety of use cases, including predicting wait times in retail, best prospects to sell to, fraud detection and demand forecasting. Lucinda enjoys collaborating with people across the organization and customers to build exciting new digital and business strategies.

She took several long career breaks while raising her boys and had a difficult time on-ramping back to full time work. To address her skills gap she got a Masters in Data Analytics from Northeastern in 2020.

Projects she's worked on have used proprietary company data including predicting wait times over 1800 chain stores, predicting likeliness of music fans to buy festival tickets, detecting fraud for a Fortune 500 company, using Python and ArcGIS Pro to choose the site of next retail footwear store based on web order demand and predicting alumni event attendance using alumni data. She also has a BS & MS in Material Sciences & Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
