We are excited to welcome Samantha Demty, KPMG Audit Partner, to discuss the opportunities for integrating AI into your business, and where KPMG is seeing companies integrate these technologies within their financial reporting.
Integrating AI also comes with unique risks and challenges for companies including data integrity and privacy risks. This talk will touch on thinking through governance considerations and establishing a responsible use framework using the pillars within KPMG’s Trusted AI approach.
Samantha Demty is an audit partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice (DPP) with more than 15 years of experience focusing on technical audit matters related to internal control over financial reporting, audit methodology for emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, risk assessment, and SEC reporting matters.
Samantha was a Professional Accounting Fellow within the Office of the Chief Accountant at the US Securities and Exchange Commission from 2021 through 2023. During her time at the Commission, she actively supported the SEC’s oversight over the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s (PCAOB) standard-setting activities, including group audits and quality control. Prior to joining the SEC, Samantha served in KPMG’s DPP and KPMG’s US Accounting and Reporting Group in London assisting audit teams and clients with complex auditing and financial reporting issues. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts and New York.
